A more in-depth review to follow.
I will say that I did not enjoy Cooper's long, flowery style. It was quite stilted and took away from enjoying the story itself. Thankfully, I chose to read this book in small bites over a 2.5 month period. It helped me stick with it. I will also say that I appreciated Cooper's respect for the Indian tribes who inhabited the land at the time of the French and Indian War in America in the 1700s.
