I don't think I would have made it past the first ten pages if I hadn't been listening to it. It had a storyline with great potential, but it was poorly, melodramatically, and, at times, painfully, executed. It is obvious why this was popular back in the day, but I have no idea why this has survived as "great literature". ...more
