Classic children's fantasy, but a bit slow for adults
It is well known that this, along with the LOTR trilogy, is a prime example of classic children's fantasy writing. That much cannot be disputed. The writing is simple but beautifully constructed in a way accessible to children, but not failing to challenge young readers, and quite packed full of lessons for young minds.
