If you like anthropomorphic tales...

This lands somewhere between Briar Rabbit and Animal Farm. Completely ridiculous but fun for children, and you can squeeze some lessons about humanity out of it if you make an effort.

A darling little story with gentle-animals as protagonists. And because there is a focus on Society and how gentle-animals should behave, it's basically all bachelor's who do not actually work? Yes, it's a children's tale so applying logic is a bit silly but hard not to notice that detail.
Cute and of its time, worth a read to follow these animals in their adventures.
