Revisiting this childhood classic was an utter joy.
There is an irrepressible nostalgia in Wind in the Willows - not just from memories of previous reading experiences but from the timbre and setting of the story itself.
It conjures a "simpler" time when we lived more closely with nature and in the thrall of the seasons and the threat of technology was further away on the horizon than nowadays.
