A good audiobook for walks
Better than the Hobbit
Tolkien's writing did improve and this book was much more entertaining than the Hobbit for the most part. Unfortunately, Tolkien's quest to write the longest possible book that he could get people to read prevails and thus there are many sections that should have ended up as scraps on the editor's floor, but sadly remain intact.
The characters and storyline were more developed and more interesting, along for a more compelling read than the Hobbit. But still, there is so much ...more
