This book is a loosely constructed narrative, with Gosta and a few other recurring characters pulling it together from time to time, but mostly seeming like disconnected tales of Swedish life. Some of the vignettes were priceless and moving.

Sono consapevole da anni che la letteratura dei paesi del nord (Svezia, Norvegia, Islanda, Finlandia e Danimarca) non mi piace. Non mi piacciono gli argomenti dei libri letti fino ad ora, ma peggio ancora non mi interessano e trovo che, a prescindere dal traduttore, non mi piace nemmeno come sono scritte od organizzate le loro storie.
