Again, I just have to be glad that I read Rushdie's most recent books first, otherwise I wouldn't have moved on. As in the case of Satanic Verses, reading this multi-hyphenated novel was not easy; perhaps I should have read it in Italian rather than English. Apart from that the magical realism makes it feel very similar to G.G.Marquez to me, with all that the settings are very different.
