This poem reminded me, and not only to me I suppose, of both the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Luisiads. I read it because of a group here on Goodreads and I was completely unaware of its existence and, as happy as I was to have read it, I admit that I fell asleep several times during "the journey". Maybe it's just because of the somewhat outdated English and my ignorance of the underlying Native American myths, it may be so.

I really enjoyed listening to this. I don’t think I’ve ever read the entire poem — just abridged versions.

I remember reading this after watching the Bugs Bunny rendition.
