This combination of two of Yeats' compilations of Irish folk and fairy tales gives a phenomenal sense of the spirit of Irish folklore. Some of the elements are familiar from other European traditions (for example I recognized cognates of the Grimms' Golden Bird & the Boy Who Went Forth to Learn Fear as well as a few quotes, motifs, and characters of the earlier Irish myths found in sources like the Ulster Cycle) but the dry wit is uniquely Irish.
