I’m trying to imagine a darker world than the one William Faulkner portrays in Sanctuary, and I can’t come up with one. There is not one character who isn’t pretty much despicable in his/her own right. Even Benbow, the lawyer who seeks to help a man that he knows is not guilty of the murder for which he is charged, is weak and unsavory in many ways.

Disfruté mucho esta novela de Faulkner, de quien espero poder leer más obras ya que me gusta mucho su prosa y su forma de recrear los ambientes donde se desarrollan sus narraciones. Similar a lo que me ocurrió cuando leí El ruido y la furia, hay cosas que se quedan como en el aire y le toca al lector deducir más o menos qué sucedió. Recomendaría esta novela sólo a quienes no les moleste que queden un par de cabos sueltos en la historia.
