The book starts and you think, what could be so impressive about an old man, the sea and some fish but trust Hemingway to make a beautiful story out of it.
The struggle of Santiago to catch a big fish is not just about his livelihood. It's about his passion of fishing, his dignity, his self esteem and the respect he wants from this fellow fisherman.
His inability to catch a fish for over 80 days makes him the subject of ridicule amongst other fisherman. The beauty of the novel, or rather novella,
