What Members Thought
I have never found such a short book so profound. Tolstoy perfectly describes the inner turmoil I think we all feel at some point. What am I doing with my life? What is it all for? In the end, will any of this really matter? Witnessing how Ivan grapples with these questions on the cusp of his own death should be a wake up call for all. It certainly has been for me. Yes, it is a sad tale but also strangely encouraging and hopeful. This is one I should probably revisit in the regular!
