OK, so here is another of Les Rougon-Macquart Books by Émile Zola. Please, if you are not fluent in the French language, look at the English, not the French title--The Drinking Den. This book focuses on a group of people that drink, and they drink in excess! I am referring to liquor of course. It is a book that warns of what happens to those who have not the ability to hold back on their consumption. It is about gluttony, of not just liquor but also sweets.
