Giving this a preliminary 4 stars, only because it's such a challenging read, I'm still trying to pull it all together. I could imagine that with a re-read this could go up to a 5 star, but it def requires additional input that other novels do not. But, hey, that's modernism for you.

I've tried to read this several times in my life, and I finally did it. Not sure about it. Faulkner loves tragedy (and hates punctuation), so the writing is dramatic, sometimes just fabulous. The rest of it is painful, confusing, and depressing.
