I have been wanting to read this book for a few years now. So when I saw the book in a book store in Madrid I jumped at the opportunity to buy it. As you might have guessed I had some considerable expectations built up when I opened the first page. And oh boy it did not disappoint. The beauty of Caddy. The tragedy of Quentin. The bitterness of Jason. And Benjy. Oh lord. Benjy.

I've tried to read this several times in my life, and I finally did it. Not sure about it. Faulkner loves tragedy (and hates punctuation), so the writing is dramatic, sometimes just fabulous. The rest of it is painful, confusing, and depressing.
