Of course I have read this - but it was ages ago! Would what I thought of it then match up with what I think now? I am not so sure! So how do others award stars for books read long ago? William Faulkner makes my brain hurt... but it is worth it. This book is profound. Tragic. Brutal. Complex. Beautiful!

But when I was I believe in my 20s I heard someone say that they absolutely loved Absalom, Absalom! but the only thing they regretted was not being able to experience it for the first time later in life. They felt it would have made for a richer experience. (Probably true of many works of art:) So I made a decision. For that one, I waited and ...more

This was a hard read. The story is written from the point of view of a mentally deficient person.
