Talk about your deep and difficult novels! The story is easy, the reading is easy, the pace is fast, the understanding is complicated and in some ways unfathomable. Camus' theme of absurdity that runs through his works are present in The Stranger with other resounding comments about death, decay and disconnect.

Great wee read. Makes you consider the spectrum of human personalities and the uniqueness of individuals, how different people react/respond in different ways and that there is no one right way to be a human. I really enjoyed the scene with the annoying priest and wanted to shout at him just as much. I would have liked to find out a little more about the victim and his family but that’s just my curiosity!
