Apparently, I’m on a re-read all Jane Austen’s novels binge. I guess there a worse things!

I love the contrast of Eleanor’s and Marianne’s personalities; one so proper and sensible and the other so fiery and emotional. Ms. Austen masterfully develops these characters so that they remain relatable some 200 years later. A remarkable work. Jane Austen's prose is lucid, beautiful and full of charm. She writes of emotions without ever touching on sentimentality. She takes us deep inside the souls of these characters and shows us a new layer of human complexity, particularly when it comes to female characters. ...more
