Much ado about nothing?

This book goes round and round several well known maxims, but otherwise says not too much:

1. Life isn't fair. Not everyone gets a happily ever after.
2. Don't listen to gossips, and don't take to heart what they say- most is based on misunderstandings and assumptions.
3. Money doesn't buy happiness, but neither does it prevent it.
4. Life goes on, whether you stoically accept it or you weep and wail.
