This was a long and dense read. Dense because it seemed as if most of London were characters. There was much to like and quite a bit to not like, but as they say story triumphs. One thing Dickens did was tell a great story. My frustrations were the over abundance of characters that were integral in the story. It took me a long time to read Bleak House, and it took me several tries to read beyond the fourth chapter. It is a great book, with lots of twists and turns, and wonderful cast of characters. I read once that Bleak House is the best of Dickens, and although I loved Great Expectations, I can see why Bleak House is considered his best.

This book was enormously sad and incredibly good!! I highly recommend it.
