This book has been intimidating me from my shelves for several years. I am glad I finally committed to reading it. So much beautiful detail, incredibly well developed characters and meaningful themes. Just when it would seem the details were becoming tedious, an event would happen which necessitated their inclusion and the plot would thicken. Dumas crafted a true masterpiece in “The Count of Monte Cristo” and this is likely a book I will revisit multiple times!
