Initially I didn't really like it, I was a girl who had the gender specific role to be clean and eloquent at all times and all that spitfire talk in Tom Sawyer I couldn't relate to or even scramble through since there are a lot of apostrophes and speech, and dialogue that's very "Rats and Tails" boyish and abbreviated and there are made up words and real words that look made up.

The pace is good, skipping and I appreciate it, now that I'm revisiting it after reading Gone Girl, not as a stiff gir ...more

Lovely adventures. I like the uncouth vivacity of Tom and Huck. Their irreverant treatment of conventions is fun and this book is as enjoyable now as it was when I was kid.
