I read this several times as a kid, but it’s been a long time. My dad first read it to me when I was really little, and my mom recently told me I was almost named Becky Thatcher.
There’s a nostalgia factor for childhood in the mid-1800s, when boys lived on superstition and visions of daring and heroism.
