Great Expectations follows the orphan Pip, who lives with his sister, known as Mrs Joe, and her husband Joe. The novel is a classic example of the Bildungsroman, as it really describes Pip's development as a character. Still a kid, he is sent to London to be educated and turned into a true gentleman. Bello, ma che tristezza la storia del giovane Pip che sembra viva per venire deluso. Prima gli si presenta una bambina che diventerà la sua ossessione d'amore, poi gli si permette di diventare "un signore", ma quando scopre chi gliel'ha permesso quasi non si riprende, nel momento stesso in cui decide di dichiararsi la sua ipotetica futura moglie sposa il padrino....Messa così sembra la trama più triste del mondo, ma la capacità narrativa di Dickens permette alla storia di essere divertente quand ...more
