What Members Thought
This is some of Dickens at his finest- characters like Havasham and Old Joe really sparkle into the public imagination. Unfortunately, it fizzles into a non-committed end— I had read about his OG ending (which was poorly received) and didn't think it was much better. Perhaps I'm just a boring romantic?

WOW!! Why oh why don’t we read more classics?!!
I have made it a goal to read at least one a year. Not much I know but hopefully will beat that goal.
Charles Dickens is a great storyteller and gives you an intriguing ride. To think this was written in 1859 and would make a great discussion book. Yes it is a bit long, I read some and listened to a lot on audio.
Let’s all read a few more classics.
Oh and there is a great version of Great Expectations from 2011 from PBS I think. Miss Haversham is un ...more
