Middlemarch is the story of an English town during the early 1800's. It is interesting to see all the interweaving of characters lives and how their actions affect not only themselves but the lives of those around them.

This was an interesting story at times, but there were many times that I found parts so dull that I really didn't know if I would ever finish this book. About 200 pages in the story did pick up a little, but it there were times that it felt like this book would never end. Overall ...more

It took me a while to get into this, but I am so glad I stuck it out. Eliot is a genius. I love the story, the characters, the setting, the insight into human nature...all of it. No wonder this is on every "to read" list I can find. ...more
