What Members Thought

3.75 stars really. I thoroughly enjoyed Crime and Punishment (it was a 5 star book for me), so I was a little disappointed with this one. I do see why so many people think this is a great book, maybe equal to Tolstoy's War and Peace. Personally, I think War and Peace is a better book. I found myself putting the book down multiple times, and it was a bit of a chore to actually finish the book. This book covers so many topics: Murder, theology, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, etc.

The Brothers Karamazov was recommended to me by my son when he was in his 20s (20 years ago). I bought it then and finally got around to reading it this year. Took me 3 months to read but it was well worth the effort (not an easy read.) I’m glad I stuck it out til the end because the final chapter was amazing! This was one of only a handful of books that just left me saying “Wow,” over and over when I finished. There are many layers to this book and I will probably spend an additional few months
