What Members Thought

“Thus each of us had to be content to live only for the day, alone under the vast indifference of the sky.”
A beautiful story about the nature of humans and the power of community. I had this book on my TBR for the longest time, thinking it would be a slow difficult read. It was neither. Surprisingly accesible and entertaining, narrating on the surface the story of a french town invaded by bubonic plague. Very reminiscent of the current covid situation.
