As I was reading Slaughterhouse-Five I at first didn't get it. I thought that Vonnegut was a male ice cream sundae without the ice cream; that is, nuts. None of the characters or situations made sense, until later when the book shows itself as a very good anti-war novel. I think it's The Red Badge of Courage of its time. ...more
