This took me forever to read because I, very frankly, did not care for Anna one bit. I really didn't like Vronsky or many of the other characters. I finished the book because of Levin and Kitty. Their happiness is a strong foil against the other character's sad tales (which Tolstoy clearly tells you is coming in the first sentence). I still love Tolstoy's writing (I want to mow fields with Levin), but this book was quite long and sad. ...more
