I never thought I would be reading as much from Sylvia Plath as I am reading now. I was introduced to her through the Confessional Poetry unit that summed up my American Literature II class and she was certainly over the top with the way she conveyed herself. I did not like her poems "Daddy" and Lady Lazarus" by any means, for I felt that she was taking sympathy from people that were in far worse situations than hers. This was this weeks audiobook. No idea why I've avoided this one all my life. For some reason I'd developed a dislike of Plath without ever having read anything except that one poem that gets taught in every highschool english class. When I first started this, I disliked the character because she was childish and immature. But then, she was 19 or so - so of course she was immature. At any rate, I'm very glad I gave this a chance.
