Woof! Not a book for when you're feeling a little down. Left me with the same feeling I had when I finished Catcher in the Rye. You know you've read something acclaimed, but you don't know that you have enjoyed the journey.

I felt this book was just OK, not great. Eerie to think of the way it seems to mirror Plath's short life and the thoughts she must have had herself. It was an easy but bizarre read. The novel is in first person and jumps around from scene to scene and memory to memory but its much easier to follow than Marcel Proust. I'm glad I read it, I feel empathy for Plath and wish she could have come out of the darkness and had more time to raise her family and write more novels but this doesn't come close
