Persuasion is the last novel fully completed by Jane Austen. It was published at the end of 1817, six months after her death.

I have to give four stars because reading Jane Austen is a singular pleasure. However, I was miffed by the lack of a twist. The book plans out where you'll go, then takes you there, with seldom a surprise (excepting a bizarre and very convenient injury to a romantic rival) and few of the memorable characters i've come to expect. Published posthumously - would there have been some more judicious editing?
