So far I've only read amazing books this month. These Broken Stars is no exception. The raw emotions and the overlaying mystery had me completely enthralled. I'm so excited to start book two. I really enjoyed the characters and how they interacted. They did really jump start their relation though. Maybe that went a little too fast for realistic purposes. But for the pacing of the story it was perfect. 4.75*

While there are many brilliant science fiction scenes, I didn't find the narrative captivating and couldn't really get into or care about the characters. I did like the Terraformed planet concept but, overall, I found this book a little lacking.
