Let me first start off by saying that I am not a fan of dystopian AT ALL, but yet the way Lila writes a book, you can’t help but fall in love with the genre she is writing for? She could probably make me fall in love with the way sewer smelled, with the way she writes. She puts so much detail into her stories, that you feel as if it is really happening around you. With that said….

Petra & Lawson are part of a society that was once the United States, that is before the United Nations to **ARC**

With that said….

Petra & Lawson are part of a society that was once the United States, that is before the United Nations took over and had other plans for them. There are now two classes in this new society, First one being the people who the government performed Lobotomies on and they worked, turning them into mindless humans almost as if they are Zombies. Second being those who the procedures didn’t work on and those who got away before being captured.

Petra is one the Government had performed a Lobotomy on that did not quite work, but to survive and not be found out, she plays along with the crowd and doesn’t care what is happening around her or to her as long as she is never found out. Well that is until Lawson comes around and follows her home one night.

Lawson is kind of like a Head Hunter of sorts. He goes around to the different cities trying to find those that the Government’s procedure failed on. He is on his way out of this last mindless city he is in, when he spots her…..He knows without a doubt that she is not like the others, so he spends extra time there following her and watching her. For some reason she isn't like anyone else he has ever come across before, she is special.

When I’d followed her the day after seeing her the first time, I waited on the roof of an abandoned building, needing to know if she was real or just a fluke. But I knew a failed experiment when I saw one. Waiting in line with the others to get rations, garbed in the status-quo white long sleeved shirt and white pants that resembled doctor scrubs, there was something not quite the same about her. Her hair was combed for one thing—it was long, brown—and so dark it was almost black. And when her eyes darted to the buildings above her and to the beings around her, I could see an almost obsolete tint of amber in her irises. ~Lawson

I can not wait to see where this story goes next, because when it ended Lila left me with my mouth hanging open, really wondering who Petra really is, and what part is she going to play in helping to win back the United States, also what mysteries does Lawson have hiding behind that tough-guy exterior and why is he willing to let Petra in, but never anyone else?

Novella series' are on the rise and I'm becoming quite a fan of them! When I heard about this series, I really wanted to read it straight away! I love dystopian books, so this series was right up my alley! I signed up for the Release Day Blitz for this novella and was offered an ARC, so I grabbed it with both hands! This novella was brilliant! I couldn't get it out of my head for days after I read it and I had to sit on it a few days before reviewing it lol! It was amazing! This novella was brilliant! I couldn't get it out of my head for days after I read it and I had to sit on it a few days before reviewing it lol! It was amazing! I did get a little confused at the beginning because it starts quite sudden, but it gave me background and such, which is essential in a dystopian book! The plot was just amazing! I loved the whole idea of it and I loved the word that the author created! It was unique and I found myself glued to the pages! I read this novella in one sitting, but it was really short! I wish it was a full length book instead of being split into parts because I think I'm going to be begging for the next novella every time lol! The plot was about a society that's controlled and the people in it are like puppets in a sense! There were a few twist and turns in the plot as well that I think will develop more in the coming novellas! The characters were amazing! Petra was the main female character and for being such a short novella, I connected brilliantly with her! She was stuck in a world where she was the one of the only people that could still function normally in a sense! She gets rescued from the controlled place and joins a group of people who can control themselves, just like her! Petra was a brave character and I think she's going to get even braver as this series continues! I just loved her! She was also pretty kick-ass! I loved her development with her love interest as well! Lawson was the main male character and he was so yummy! I want a Lawson! Seriously! He was so hot and so cute with Petra! I loved how much he cared for her in such a short time! Lawson was a dedicated character and I could see this from as soon as he was introduced! I can't wait to read more on him! I also loved that this novella was written from both Petra and Lawson's point of views! It was so cute to see just how much Lawson cared for Petra and vice versa! There were quite a few secondary characters introduced in this novella and I can't wait to see how they're going to develop as the series continues! I'm desperate for the next novella in this series! Absolutely desperate for it! This novella ended on one mega cliff-hanger and I cannot wait to see what's going to happen next! I'm going to be on pins and needles waiting for the next novella and I have a feeling I'm probably going to feel like this after I finish reading the rest of the novellas as well lol! You understand how much the cover for this novella suits it after you have read it! I liked it, but I didn't love it before I read it and now that I have read it, I can see how well it suits the novella! Big thank you to Lila and Inkslinger PR for an ARC of Forced Autonomy! ...more

I received a copy for an honest review.
I was a little unsure of how I would like this when I started reading it, but as I went along it grew on me. I like the reason behind this dystopian. I would say that would be my first reason for an apoctaliptic world! Very good writing and a great story line. I definitely will read the next phase!
