While I did not think this was the best book I've ever read, it also wasn't the worst. It was just OK. I have never read Ann Patchett, and honestly expected a little bit more, but was slightly thrown off by the reality of pregnant 73-year-old women. The setting was awesome, and was even more enhanced by the stories my mother had from her recent Amazon expedition. I loved Easter - he was my favorite character in the book. I'm not sure I would recommend this as a a "Must Read", but I also wouldn't

Well, I had to check this out twice to get through it. It got great reviews and I thought it would be so good, but it just wasn't for me. There were some good parts but overall. It just didn't do it for me. Usually the ending of a book redeems it but this one ended just waay to abruptly. ...more
