This collection is about the year 2020, and it was so moving it brought me to tears multiple times. We are lucky to have artists who captured the emotions of these challenging times, especially from the perspective of someone at such a pivotal age as Amanda Gorman was.

I am moved by the poetry Amanda Gorman writes in this book, especially because it’s so culturally relevant and touches on topics with a heavy focus on the global pandemic and racial injustice. Her words spin grief and loss but also hope and light. I read so many of the poems more than once, taking away nee things each time. I can see myself giving this book to my grandchildren when they are teens to explain to them what it was like, to go through the pandemic and the racial injustice and politic

I found this to be an uneven collection. Some of it is great and some of it not so much.
Wow wow wow. What a stunning and important collection of poetry from a brilliant voice. There were several times I rewound to listen to a poem again. This should be required reading for all Americans, and I highly recommend listening to Amanda herself read the audiobook.
I'm not much for poetry most of the time, but this was beautiful to read. I think I went through every emotion in it's pages and I'm so glad I got the chance to experience it. Poignant, beautiful, heartbreaking ... Amanda Gorman is a gift to us all.
