I was a little worried at first that maybe this was just going to be a sort of typical teenage/young adult whine-fest sort of book. It started off a little bit "mean-girlsy" for me. But in all honesty, that really is how high school girls are a lot of the time. Trust me, I know, I substitute teach part time at an all girls private school! And then, I was worried it might take a sort of Harry Potter turn, and I was getting all: "Ugh, I've read this story already!"

It didn't capture me like some of the other things that I read, but I did like it. I would say, instead of Mighty Girls, these girls were more Wild Girls and that's pretty good, too. ...more

the jury is still out on this one...there seemed to be a lot of build-up which was boring and just when i would be about to stop listening they would throw something out that would pull me in...going to try and read the second book instead of listen to it and see if that makes a difference
