I enjoyed this quirky historical look at the assassinations of Lincoln, Garfield and McKinley. At times it's irreverent and feels similar to reading all of the random facts from Trivia Pursuit, but at times it's also laugh out loud funny. I enjoyed all the unknown side stories and will read another Vowell book. (Reader Harder Challenge: Travel memoir)

I probably should have listened to this as an audio book since Vowell gets such good reviews in that format. But even as a hard copy book, I found her voice compelling and she made a subject that I didn't think I'd be interested in quite fun. The book covers the assassinations of Lincoln, Garfield and McKinley and Vowell's travels to the major destinations related to these assassinations. Sarah Vowell spent her vacation going around to various sites of Presidential assassination, and wrote a ripping good book about it. For those who like humor and history, it's a great read.
