I have been wanting to read it since the movie came out. I am not a big graphic novel reader, but I enjoyed the storytelling, the alternate timeline, and the message. The fear of war accurately captures the fear people had of a nuclear holocaust and the environmental concern matches our concerns even today.

I've never been a comic book reader, and this was my first graphic novel - it will probably also be my last. I don't necessarily think that the book itself was bad, just not my style.

I think I was out of my genre here. I borrowed this from the friend after hearing a lot of enthusiasm about the movie. In retrospect, I appreciate what they were trying to do, and I can see why this was groundbreaking in 1985. But now, with the many "flawed superhero" movies that have come out in recent years, it didn't seem all that special. In addition, the actions and reactions of some of the characters seemed juvenile at points, as though they had been written by a rejected and hormonal teen
