Bridget Jones is a 30-something singleton looking for Mr. Right. She drinks too much, smokes too much, weighs too much, and absolutely obsesses too much. Of course, she resolves to eliminate all of these bad habits and keeps track of her projress in a diary. She hooks up with a jerk; meanwhile, she keeps bumping into Mark Darcy, who is awkward and often rude. She can't stand him, but eventually realizes that he is her Mr. Right. Hilarious, and the movie is good, too.

Reread for book club. A little bit dated with the pop culture references (working a VCR!) but still puts a smile on my face. And still more enjoyable than the movie.
