Not the easiest story to enjoy since it covers his childhood with an incredibly abusive father but I did. The parallels stories of Alan's growing up and the search for information about his maternal grandfather were interesting. As I haven't seen the episode of "Who Do You Think You Are" that is detailed in the book, the cliffhangers really worked for me. It is hard to imagine having to wait days/weeks/months to find out the next bit of information when I just had to listen for a few more minute

My new favorite thing is to listen to audiobooks that are read by the author. I would recommend this audiobook. I like Alan C. but I am not a huge fan and I didn't know anything about him. I loved listening to this story about his relationship with his father and his discovery of his family history.

This was really good. I've enjoyed watching Alan Cumming on TV, and in this book you really get to know how he thinks and feels. His story has so many ups and downs, and yet he still really seems like someone I would love to know. He seems very real and approachable.
