This book was the selection of a book club at a local bookstore, and I loved it. The bookstore owner picked it because she wanted a lighter read. I'm not sure this qualifies as light reading. A retelling of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice from the servants’ perspectives. An interesting counterpoint to the original story.

I quit reading this halfway through--it just couldn't hold my attention for some reason. It is about the servants at the Bennett household from Pride and Prejudice, but it focuses mainly on one servant, which wasn't very interesting. I may try again... ...more
