I have been trying to read this book for a few weeks now, but the writing style just grates on me and I can't seem to get past page 15 or so. It's that style that has become unfortunately very popular in YA books: an observation made with an obvious cause, then that cause is needlessly described (like, if the ribbon tugs, then yes OBVIOUSLY something is tugging on it), and lots of short. choppy. sentence fragments. Amazing story
I loved the world, it was so much fun exploring it. I loved the characters, Mina was a mighty girl and I liked the supporting characters. I loved the plot and how it unfolded.

It’s a good fable/fairy tale.
