I liked this much, much more than the author’s previous book (and I’m likely in the minority on that, but it’s the truth). This starts off in a verrrrrry WTF kind of place, but I will say that I found the work of this book equal to its reveal (not the case with Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell for me). As the story wove on, I found myself much more interested in picking the book back up. Worth the read!

Such an unusual book!
In the beginning, I felt a bit loss. The descriptions were very vague, with lots of spatial reference that made my brain fried XD The setting is in a huge castle/building/labyrinth full of halls, vestibules, statues, etc, that have been described in detailed but by using many directional approach, something that I'm very weak at.
