What Members Thought

A quick read with great character development and fun to be taken back to some areas of Malibu I used to frequent when I lived there. But I think it was so hyped up from me I expected a bit more. I like Reid’s writing, but for this book some parts were just a bit too cliche. I did like the clean ending and closure of the story.

This book was fun and entertaining. I rarely let myself give in to a summer read, but book club chose it and my daughter happened to buy it at Powell's when we were on vacation so I allowed myself a book that wasn't intellectual. I grew up adjacent to Malibu, so I enjoyed the references. The story was fine. That's all.
