Dear Edward is about a boy who is the only survivor of a plane crash. The story is his journey of grief and recovery and growing up…It starts out with him as a 12 y.o. but having a 12 year old boy I feel like she didn’t portray a 12 year old as 12. Couldn’t help to want to know all the characters and felt the author could have gone deeper with the characters. This was a sweet coming-of-age story of the lone survivor of a plane crash. I wish less time was spent on the narratives of the plane’s other passengers. There was a lot of telling and not showing, so it wasn’t as emotionally impactful to me as it could have been.
