Honestly, I avoided this book when it first came out. Something made me cave and place it on hold, though it still felt like something too "Hallmark-ish" for my taste. Turns out I was wrong and I really enjoyed this tragic (yet hopeful!) coming of age tale of a lone survivor of an airplane crash. In tears at the end of this sweet story. I listened to the nicely done #audiobook which is probably part of the reason I enjoyed it so much. ...more

Imagine you're a 12-year-old boy and the only survivor of an airplane crash? How do you cope, move on and reconcile your former life with the future? Ann Napolitano chronicles Eddie's story as he transforms from devastated survivor into a young man helping others.

I had difficulty immersing myself into the story but the second half was poignant, thought-provoking and proclaimed a sense of resiliency. Dear Edward delivers a heart-felt read. ...more
