I'm not a huge Instagram person but I'm so glad that I found out about this book from following Nayyirah Waheed there. This is a beautiful book of poems about race, gender, love, relationships, and the self. Waheed puts complex feelings into words so simply and accurately. Just one example:

Astonishing. Spectacularly beautiful, knife-edged, heartbreaking. I sat in silence with a great deal of it, and recommend that to anyone.
One of my friends gave me this book, and I keep finding myself going back to certain poems. Nayyirah Waheed is amazing.
